How does the Anoka-Hennepin Independent School District, Minnesota’s largest public school district in Coon Rapids, train its workforce of 7,500 employees. The school district uses E-learning, with employees viewing interactive training programs online at their convenience.

“It saves us time and money, because we don’t have to schedule a day to bring employees into one location,” says Chris Nielsen, the district’s Health and Safety supervisor.

Employees view a variety of online programs targeted to OSHA compliance. “E-learning helps us comply with standards covering bloodborne pathogens, asbestos, confined spaces, lockout/tagout, laboratory safety, respiratory protection and more,” Nielsen says.

E-learning also provides Nielsen with the opportunity to manage employee training with an extensive database. “We monitor the training, track users, run reports, find out who’s taken each course and who needs to take them,” he says.
